Ciprian’s nomination for the Best Video Design award at the UNITER Awards reflects his dedication, hard work, and commitment to the arts. This recognition is for his outstanding work on the VR/AR component of the performance “Reconstituirea,” directed by Catinca Drăgănescu.

The UNITER Awards, established by the Romanian Theatre Union (UNITER), are among the most prestigious accolades in Romanian theatre. They honour exceptional achievements in various theatrical disciplines, celebrating the dedication and talent of theatre professionals across the country. This year’s UNITER Awards Gala will take place on May 26, 2025, at the “Marin Sorescu” National Theatre in Craiova.

Here’s how Ciprian describes his approach to the set design: “The set design of “Reconstituirea” theatre play merges vintage and emergent media technologies, from CRT (Cathode-ray Tube) televisions, VHS (Video Home System) cameras to VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality), to create a dynamic, multi-layered stage environment. […] This interconnectedness between eras of media is achieved with RF (radio frequency) modulators and amplifiers that are converting the digital signal, either video, AR or VR, into analog TV signal. The result is a technological infused theatre set, where old and new technology coexist in an intricate web of analogue cables and wireless data streams revealing the ongoing evolution of media.” — Ciprian Făcăeru, October 2024

We are very pleased with Ciprian’s achievements and this recognition. Please join us in congratulating him and wishing him the best of luck!
